Seating Accommodations
People with mobility disabilities who require accessible seating because of their disability are permitted to purchase tickets for accessible seats. This group includes people who use wheelchairs, those who use other mobility devices, and people who cannot climb steps or walk long distances because of significant arthritis or severe respiratory, circulatory, or cardiac conditions. Individuals who have a disability that requires use of the accessible features that are provided in accessible seating are also permitted to purchase accessible seats, including people who cannot sit in a straight-back chair or those whose service dogs cannot fit under a non-accessible seat or lie safely in the aisle. Tickets for accessible seats may be sold to individuals who require accessible seating themselves or to someone purchasing on their behalf. People who do not fall within the categories above but merely have a preference for accessible seating are not entitled to purchase accessible seats. If accessible seating has been purchased fraudulently, the purchasers’ ticketed party is subject to investigation, denial of entry, relocation, and/or ejection from the venue. Refunds may not be given for violation of the above terms and conditions.
Individuals purchasing a ticket for an accessible seat may purchase up to three (3) additional seats for their companions in the same row and that are contiguous with the accessible seat. If contiguous seats have already been sold and are not available, the starlight bowl will offer other seats as close to the accessible seats as possible. Please note that accessible seating is limited and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please refer to the seating chart for the accessible seating section.
Parking & Shuttles
Accessible parking is available at the Starlight Bowl. Please note that parking lots at the Starlight Bowl are unpaved and are composed of gravel and dirt. Accessible parking is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please have your placard placed on your rearview mirror and following directions from the parking attendants.
Shuttles are available to transport individuals from the parking area into the venue. Shuttle stops are noted with signage, canopies, and chairs. Shuttles begin running once venue gates open and after the concert concludes. Shuttles are equipped to transport wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
Service Animals
Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the Americans With Disabilities act (ada). Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy dogs are not service animals under title ii and title iii of the ADA. This also applies to other species of animals, whether wild or domestic, trained or untrained. 28 c.f.r. § 36 (2010).
If a service animal behaves in an unacceptable way and the person with a disability does not control it, the starlight bowl will not allow it onto the premises. Uncontrolled barking, jumping up on people, and running away from the handler are examples of unacceptable behavior. The Starlight Bowl has the right to deny access to a dog that disrupts our operations. The Starlight Bowl will exclude a service animal when its behavior poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others. 28 c.f.r. § 35.136.
The ADA requires the service animal to be under the control of the handler. This can be by means of a harness, leash, or other tether. The animal must be housebroken. The Starlight Bowl is not required to provide for the care or supervision of a service animal, including cleaning up after it. 28 c.f.r. § 36.302. For more information, see the Americans With Disabilities act, title 28 code of federal regulations, pt. 3536. 2010 ed.
