Phineas & Ferb The Movie, the Fun, The Awesomeness!

The gates opened at 6pm and the race was on! Thank you to everyone for reserving your seats in advance. All the tickets were distributed and we had one heck of a packed house.

Every kid who entered the Bowl received their favorite character’s face mask (on a giant popsicle-looking stick, no less!) There were little Phineas, Ferb and Peri’s running up and down, and all around. Some parents were able to wrangle a mask from their unsuspecting child. They got to have nice hand fans as a result.

There were tons of other great activities and give-aways as well. The Radio Disney van provided the kids with the chance to have their photos taken with official Phineas & Ferb The Movie memorabilia. Some memories will definitely last forever.

Hopefully the kids who got the permanent temporary tattoos had a great time and showed them off until their temporariness faded away ;)

There were roving entertainers as well. We had a balloon creator (we think they were animals being made!), a magical magician wowing kids and adults alike, and some really, really tall person on stilts (we think they were stilts!)

Before the movie started on the big screen at 8pm, our fabulous sponsor, Radio Disney was on stage playing kid-friendly music, having contests and giving away really cool prizes. Oh, and did we mention more than just a few folks decided that Saturday night was alright for fighting, er, DANCING!

Disney VoluntEARS

So, just a quick shout out to thank you all who made it down to the Centennial Movie Night sponsored by Disney. We loved it, and we love you, too!

2011 Starlight Bowl Season Recap

  •    star bullet image All American Show Choir Super Show: Burbank & Burrough’s opened the season with the smash collaboration of In Sync and Powerhouse performing on the same stage together for the first time ever. And it was all to benefit public schools in Burbank. Smashing, we think!

  •    star bullet image 4th of July Celebration: The Starlight Bowl helped you celebrate America’s Birthday with riveting performances by the Burbank Philharmonic, an Air Force Fly Over, and singing our National Anthem, Veteran Daniel Rutherford. Surfin’ USA got us in the beach mood, and the event wrapped up with arguably the finest fireworks in the entire Los Angeles basin.

  •    star bullet image Spazmatics & Boogie Knights: Disco mavens Boogie Knights had the crowds dancing in the aisles and the Spazmatics did little to change the minds of those dancing in their seats. 80′s music and disco definitely ruled this night at the Bowl.

  •    star bullet image The Fab Four: The Ultimate Tribute to all things Beatles rocked the house with their spot on performances of not one or two, but all three Beatles’ eras. Considered by fans and other professional musicians to be the number one Beatles tribute shows, if you missed this one, you missed it!

  •    star bullet image Malo & Emilio: Latin Rock and Roll super star band, Malo, brought their 40+ years of touring and recording experience to the Bowl and everyone was thrilled. Opening the night was the soulful sounds of the “Modern Gypsy”, Emilio.

  •    star bullet image Eddie Money & Frank Stallone: The following week had Eddie Money cranking up the voltage with his Hall of Fame Rock and Roll music. Opening for Money was the multi-talented singer, songwriter and actor, Frank Stallone.

  •    star bullet image DSB & The Basix: Just last week, patrons got to experience a tribute to the super group, Journey via the amazing talents of Don’t Stop Believin’. Getting the crowd fired up that evening was Disco great, The Basix.

  •    star bullet image Centennial Movie Night: And now we’re at the close of the 2011 Starlight Bowl season with Disney presenting a complimentary showing of Phineas and Ferb The Movie for patrons of all ages. It only takes the reservation of a free ticket (click that orange “Purchase Tickets” button on the right side bar) to ensure you and your family will have a no-cost, super fun night out.
